The Forest in June

We had visited this woods just a few weeks ago, but it has been transformed since then.

It is now filled with ferns and grasses of every shade of green you could imagine.

The overabundance of rain we have have this month has not gone to waste.

Everything is extra lush this spring and the plants are sprouting up  so quickly that you can almost watch them grow.

The Kayak

It was a beautiful evening.

The setting sun seemed to turn the water into liquid gold.

It was her first time alone in a kayak and she did a fantastic job, not falling in once (much to my surprise).

I was so proud of her little self as she determinedly paddled atop the golden river of light.

The Guardian

The morning dawned calm and bright.  The air was incredibly warm for the first of June.

Her gown sparkled like a jewel in the early morning sun creating a splendid burst of light against the somber colours of the rocks.

And high above the shore, she looked like a beautiful statue guarding the entrance of the harbour from all harm.
